The Rotary Climate Action Team (RCAT) mobilizes Rotary, Interact, and Rotaract clubs and districts to recruit schools, provide mentors, and supply judges across the program. RCAT judges the 18+ Postsecondary Advanced Leadership Track jointly with The Climate Initiative, evaluating projects for completion, local impact, and measurable sustainability and scalability.
RCAT’s network also connects Growing Green Leaders to Rotary’s Global Climate Pledge and its “4-7-8-17” framework for rating high-impact community projects.
The Rotary Climate Action Team Network unites 702 Rotary clubs across 92 countries working to engage over two billion people in climate action. It provides Action Team start-up support, a global library of club climate projects, monthly forums, and the Global Climate Pledge for clubs, businesses, and governments.
RCAT's leadership includes Director Steve Bender, CEO of Sea 2 Sky Solutions and Chairman of the U.S. Green Chamber of Commerce, and Director Leia Lowery, Executive Director of The Climate Initiative — both of whom lead Growing Green Leaders.
Growing Green Leaders is a partnership between The Environmental Xperience, the Rotary Club of Newport Beach, The 7 Seas Foundation, the Rotary Climate Action Team, and the education organizations powering the curriculum.
