An international STEAM program for grades 3–12 where students design climate solutions and turn them into short videos, culminating in an international showcase with cash prizes.
CAVU supplies Lessons 4–5 of the Growing Green Leaders pipeline: its storytelling and video production toolkit, which helps students translate their TCI climate action plans into compelling short films. CAVU independently judges the High School Video Track under its Climate Innovation Challenge (CIC) Video Competition, evaluating entries for creative media storytelling, youth perspective, and solution feasibility.
CAVU is an Emmy Award–winning team of storytellers focused on youth climate education through its international Climate Innovation Challenge (CIC) — a free STEAM program for grades 3–12 where students design climate solutions and turn them into short, powerful videos. The program combines a free six-lesson curriculum aligned to ELA and NGSS standards with an international video competition and showcase offering cash prizes.
CAVU's Education Director, Morgan Baker, leads the development and implementation of the Climate Innovation Challenge curriculum used within Growing Green Leaders.
Growing Green Leaders is a partnership between The Environmental Xperience, the Rotary Club of Newport Beach, The 7 Seas Foundation, the Rotary Climate Action Team, and the education organizations powering the curriculum.
