Rotary clubs across South Asia can recommend one active Interactor or Rotaractor for a four month complimentary internship in sustainability, conducted virtually by Invosystems, Singapore. The cohort begins 1 October 2026 and is capped at 30 students.
Recommendations close Monday 14 September 2026. Submissions are processed on Tuesday 15 September 2026. This is the last complimentary intake. Future cohorts will be paid.

An international student climate action internship in sustainability, starting 1 October 2026 and running for four months.

Delivered online by Invosystems, Singapore, a recognized hub for sustainable living and the team behind the PlanetSustain mobile app.

Valued at SGD 50 per student and offered pro bono for this intake of 30 students from Rotary South Asia.
What the internship involves
Two linked activities, household electricity reduction and community outreach, with learning sessions alongside them.
Three month home action
The core activity. Students reduce household electricity use, track monthly consumption and adopt simple energy saving habits.
Twelve week community outreach
One hour a week. Students engage five households and five fellow students, ten connections in all, sharing climate awareness and electricity saving practices with appropriate consent and institution approval.
Learn, act, be recognized
Sustainability learning sessions, green skills, measurable climate impact and a digital certificate on successful completion.
Who can be recommended
An active Interactor or Rotaractor
The student must be active as per Rotary International records, and the recommendation must be certified by the Rotary or Rotaract Club President.
From South Asia
India, Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka or the Maldives. Students may be from anywhere in India.
Not already enrolled
The student must not belong to an institution whose Interact or Rotaract batch is currently active, or starting on or after 1 October 2026, under the PlanetSustain Internship.
Equipped and supported
Access to a phone running Android 12 or later, or iPhone running iOS 16.1 or later, to install and use the PlanetSustain mobile app. Enrolment is in the student’s personal capacity and requires a parent’s consent.
Girl students are especially encouraged. Organisers have asked recommenders to include as many girl students as possible, and to look for genuine interest and passion for climate action.
How to recommend a student
Get club president certification
The recommender obtains certification from the Rotary or Rotaract Club President, by email, confirming that the student is indeed an Interactor or Rotaractor. Send it to jagadish.gokavarapu@gmail.com and copy rahulchaly@gmail.com.
Submit the student’s details
Include every item on the checklist below in the same email. Incomplete submissions cannot be processed in time.
Submit on or before 14 September
Details must arrive on or before Monday 14 September 2026 so they can be processed on Tuesday 15 September 2026.
