A nonpartisan youth climate education nonprofit whose Learning Lab and CALP framework reach close to 1 million students and over 7,000 educators worldwide.
The Climate Initiative (TCI) supplies the no-cost curriculum foundation for every Growing Green Leaders participant: Lessons 1–3 of the Climate Action Leadership Program (CALP), developed in collaboration with Rotarian John Mathers, which build climate literacy, help students analyze local impacts, and guide them to design community solutions.
TCI also powers the optional Action Bridge, the TCI Changemaker Award: Student Edition, offering cash prizes, certificates, and recognition for students who want to take their video’s proposed solution off the screen and into their community. Schools that want to go further can integrate TCI’s full Learning Lab curriculum at no cost.

They show that community-based, hands-on learning can bring a global issue to the local level, inspire action and build more resilient communities.
The Climate Initiative is co-founded and led by Executive Director Leia Lowery, who also serves as a Director on the Rotary Climate Action Team and Growing Green Leaders Co-Chair.
Growing Green Leaders is a partnership between The Environmental Xperience, the Rotary Club of Newport Beach, The 7 Seas Foundation, the Rotary Climate Action Team, and the education organizations powering the curriculum.
